I want to use my acting carrier to preach the gospel------Remilekun Ayodele( Yoruba actress)
While other actresses are acting for purpose of making their names and money, Nollywood fastest growing Yoruba actress, Remilekun Ayodele says using her make believe profession to preach the gospel of God is her target, though she did not rule out making money from it
“I know I will still be a pastor one day, I know of that, and I believed I am already doing that through my acting, even though I am a professional actress” begins the beautiful actress whose first movie Eelulu was released 2012
When asked if acting is all what she does for a living she replied
“I am an actress and a fashionister, a business woman. I am also the CEO/Proprietor Remmy Helen Production, where we rent out equipment for film production. This is a profession (acting) I have been doing for over a decade.”
She went back the memory lane on her first movie
“My first movie was not easy been my first production, it was titled “Eelulu” it was very tough but I thank God. And just recently I finished my second film, titled “Eni Ile” it featured many established stars like Damola Olatunji, Ibrahim Owolabi and myself among others”
Remilekun is not an actress that believed in resting over their oars as she has concluded plans to enter another location for her film titled “Angeli mi”
“I can’t just wait to go back to location for this my new film. It is a true life story that I wrote myself. I want to encourage our women to be self-reliance; you see some of these ladies ridden keke marpep just to make ends meet. So that means our women needs government support, if you say I am campaigning for women liberation I don’t care. To me I always respect women who don’t depend on men for their survival. So the film is going to be very interesting. I have to go to NURTW office in my area to learn how to drive the keke Marwa, it is one of the most challenging roles I will ever take. Also expected to feature in the movie is Jaiye Kuti, Rasaq Oowoniran(wazo), Niyi Rapheal Okele, Ladi Folarin Emmanuel and others”
She also frowns at the general opinion that actresses don’t stay in husband house
“I always find it amused that people always associate us (Actresses) with broken homes. Tell me is it only us that is experiencing that? Definitely no, but because we are celebrities you got to read anything we do, and that is due to the fact that we don’t have privacy, other ladies too do express what we too go through”
