Barrister ‘Dayo Adamolekun is a versed and seasoned Legal Practitioner and consultant, an administrator, and a social/political aficionado. His legal practice largely straddles Lagos, Kano, Abuja and lately, Ekiti. He is a Senior Associate and the Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group in Kusamotu & Kusamotu, a Nigerian and Pan-African fast-rising commercial law firm.
He was born four decades ago at Usi-Ekiti in the old Ondo State now Ekiti State. For his elementary education, he attended St. Peters’ Catholic Primary School, Ijero – Ekiti, and later St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Usi – Ekiti. His secondary education was also acquired at Notre Dame Grammar School, Usi-Ekiti, where he graduated in flying colours in 1998.
In furtherance of his quest for top-class university education, he attended the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria where he graduated with an LLB in Law in 2007. He also attended the Nigerian Law School, Abuja where he obtained the professional qualification of Barrister at Law (BL) in 2008. He also has in his bags a Master of Law degree, with special bias for Energy and Natural Recourses Law, from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
Mr. Dayo Adamolekun has been involved in legal advisory and consultancy services on varied and vast areas of law for local and international clients. His areas of practice/interest include dispute resolution, international arbitration, oil and gas/power, election matters, infrastructure, international trade and corporate/commercial practice.
He is a member of several reputable Associations and Societies including the International Bar Association, Nigerian Bar Association, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) Nigeria Branch and Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) (NIM).
In 2018, he was conferred with a professional Fellowship of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria by the Governing Council of the Institute in Abuja, Nigeria.
In March 2019, he was featured as the Legal Practitioner of the Week by the prestigious ThisDay Newspaper.
He acts as Legal Adviser to several reputable companies and organizations. He is equally a public affairs analyst and speaker/panelist at local and international conferences.
Mr. Adamolekun has had the privilege to serve his community, Usi-Ekiti in various capacities. In 2004, he served as the Editor – in- Chief of Usi-Echo Magazine, the annual Usi-Day publication of the Federation of Usi Students’ Union. He was later elected and served as the National President of the Federation of Usi Students’ Union (FUSU) between 2005 and 2007. He is the current National Legal Adviser of Egbe Omo Usi.
He is married to a beautiful lady of Usi-Ekiti extraction, Eniola Adamolekun (nee Ajayi), and he is blessed with two wonderful children. For his hobby, he enjoys reading, swimming and traveling.
