The incident happened at the popular Moshood Area of Ikere Ekiti.
Mrs Arannilewa, who ran a yam-selling trade at a shop close to the Church of the Lord (Aladura) in Ikere Ekiti was said to have been seen hale and hearty around the town by many on Thursday, May 18, 2020.
Her tenants said they knew she slept in the house overnight and were aware that she was very early in the morning of Friday preparing for clothes washing.

According to a lawyer who is an indigene of Ikere Ekiti and younger brother to her late husband,  Gani Faniyi,  suspicion first set in when Mrs Arannilewa  who normally reported at her shop very early in the morning was not seen there up to 12 oon last Friday.
Faniyi said her friend, one Mrs Ojolo who lives within a short distance from Mrs Arannilewa’s shop being agitated when Mrs Arannilewa was not seen in the shop, went looking for her at home.
“What Mrs Ojolo met at Mrs Arannilewa’s residence further heightened her suspicion. She met the main door to the house and all doors to her apartment ajar, some dresses waiting for washing but with no signs no one around.
“She then raised alarm.
“The matter was instantly reported to the Police. It was while at the police station that information came that the corpse of Mrs Arannilewa was found at a place not far from the home.
“She was slaughtered and the corpse dumped in a shallow stream flowing through the back of her home.
“Under the supervision of the police, her corpse was recovered and deposited in the morgue of the State Specialist Hospital, Ikere Ekiti,” Faniyi said.
