Ekiti PDP: Elders,Stakeholders Deny Endorsing Kolawole And Omolase; Claim The Chairmanship Position Is Still Opened To Contest

Contrary to the report released by Lere Olayinka, Ekiti PDP Elders and Stakeholders have totally denied the endorsement of Otunba Bisi Kolawole as the sole Chairmanship Aspirant of the party in the upcoming Ekiti State PDP Congress.

According to Chief Idowu Odeyemi, “it is utterly ridiculous and bemusing to say that the Elders of the Party have jointly endorsed Otunba Bisi Kolawole and Hon. Joseph Omolase, when we have other aspirants such as Dr Temitope Kolawole Aluko who has purchased his aspirant form, including Hon. Kehinde Odebunmi”.

“For the records, it is true we had several meetings with the Elders and Stakeholders of PDP in Ekiti State and after several consultations across the length and breadth of Ekiti State, we resolved to meet all the aspirants gunning for the position of the party Chairman, from which we observed that only Bisi Kolawole and TKO were able to show their utmost readiness for the election towards providing effective leadership for the Party since Hon Kehinde Odebunmi did not make himself available through out the process”.

However, the Elders and Stakeholders attempted to reconcile TKO and Bisi Kolawole in a manner that they both spoke with one another and embraced one another but none of them agreed to stepped down for one another.

“Consequently, the Elders and Stakeholders of the party have set up a team of intercessors to speak to both sides and report back not later than two weeks time so that a concrete decision can be taken”, Odeyemi concluded.

The meeting was attended by foremost leaders of the party such as, Sen. Clement Awoyelu, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, his former deputy, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, Chief G.A Ajanaku(Baba Ologbo), Chief Aluko(Ode), Hon Mrs C.O Adesoro, Alhaji Alaketu and Hon. Segun Adekola, Sen. Awoyelu, Chief Ademuagun, Elder Martins Ibikunle, Chief. S.A Popoola aspirants TKO Aluko and Bisi Kolawole amongst others.

“Lere Olayinka and his copeddlers of falsehood should desist from distortion of fact and truth concerning the ongoing process. As far as we are concerned, TKO is still in the race, having purchased his form. He has indicated intent to contest and It is his legitimate right which the party must respect”.
